We have prayer to live out our faith in this world.
I. We pray and give praise individually.
II. We can ask the elders to pray over sickness.
III. Together we pray for one another to overcome.
IV. The prayer of the righteous is working.
Living Faith: Jesus is Coming

Instructions as we wait for Jesus' return:
I. Be patient.

Living Faith: Passion for Riches

James speaks the truth about worldly riches.
I. The pursuit of worldly riches will result in misery.
II. When desire for wealth takes advantage of others, God knows.
III. A self-centered focus on riches will end badly.
Living Faith: Arrogance

Arrogance is thumbing your nose at God.
I. it is arrogant to place yourself in judgment over others.
II. it is arrogant to believe your plans will not fail.
III. To overcome arrogance, you must submit to the sovereignty of God.
Living Faith: "Warning about Worldliness"

This world has nothing good for us.
I. Our desires create hostilities.
II. Our desires come from our friendship with this world..
III. We can break our ties to this world through God's grace.
Living Faith: "God Given Wisdom"

We are to live the wisdom of God.
I. The world does not supply this wisdom.
II. True wisdom comes from God.
III. This wisdom from God is displayed in His people.
Living Faith: "The Tongue in Your Mouth"

Our tongues, though evil, can be used for good.
I. Good teaching is a serious responsibility.
II. James defines the troubles of the tongue.
a. the tongue is small but powerful.
b. the tongue is untamable.
c. the tongue reveals more about us than we care to admit.
Living Faith: Useless Faith

We cannot live a useless faith.
I. Where there are no works, there is no faith.
II. Where there is no faith, there is no salvation.
III. We are justified by works and not by faith alone. (vs. 18-26)
Living Faith: No Place for Favoritism

People living for Jesus must not show favoritism
I. Favoritism cannot represent Jesus.
II. We cannot live according to our worldly judgements. III. We are called to live according to the law of love.

We are the results of God's goodness.
I. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
II. Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.
III. Be pure and undefiled in religion.

James helps us understand spiritual fitness.
I. We are weakened by our wealth.
II. We are blessed by standing strong.
III. We are condemned when we blame others for our condition.

I. Temptation to sin does not rest or retire.

II. When we grieve we should grieve knowing God is in control.

I. Fear leads to hopeless reasoning. (vs 7)
II. Hopelessness can lead to faithless compromise. (vs. 12)
